something fancy

Lately I have been repairing and washing some very delicate items of vintage lingerie. I was lucky enough to stumble upon a great estate sale full of lovely old night gowns and such, even had the pleasure of chatting with an elderly lady who knew the woman who owned them. She claimed that Cecile loved to be "all fancy, even for bed". So here are some of those fancy little nighties that will very soon be in my shop.

it's cool to share...duh

We have all heard it a million times, mostly from our mothers that sharing is important. I happened upon a couple of TED talks the other day that only reinforced that my mother is indeed always right. The first is by Rachel Botsman. Rachel is the author of What's Mine Is Yours: The Rise of Collaborative Consumption and makes some powerful claims about the power of sharing in our ever more connected and global economy. Needless to see this all is right up my etsy loving alley.

Also be sure to watch Jessi Arrington's quirky, wonderful, colorful and delightful talk as well. You are never going to belive what she brought (or didn't bring) with her on her TED talk trip!

A few more shop updates

Just a few more things I posted a few hours ago. Enjoy!

Another outfit post. This one I posted a few days ago, it is still one of my favorite looks. I am loving the braided leather trend that has been so big this summer, and of course stripes are always a safe choice. So, how could you go wrong with the combination?

parting is such sweet sorrow

I am sure if you ask a veteran vintage seller there are a few item they wish they could go back in time and keep for themselves. Well, I am new to the game and I am already experiencing separation anxiety about this lace top in my shop... that I haven't even sold yet! I am sure you have noticed that I loved the texture so much I used it in the header of this blog, it it just so great. It is just a bit to tight and a smidgen too short for me (curse my long torso). I have been browsing the internet looking for perhaps a replacement, haven't fell in love yet, but there has been a few crushes along the way. Here a couple possible replacements to ease my pain.

As you can see they are both amazing, just not quite the same.
